Tabletop Spotlight: Grundstok Gunhauler & Thunders

Our buddies at Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy brought over the latest Kharadron Overlords wave. The Grundstok Gunhauler & Thunderers are under the Tabletop Spotlight:
These two kits are represent the second wave of Kharadon Overlord release, but more than that, they are also represent the “Mercs” of the faction. The Grundstok guild is basically a sub-faction within the Kharadron Overlords. They are highly trained and very well equipped. They were so effective at what they do that the Grundstok mercs have been accepted at all the major sky-ports of the Kharadron Overlords. No captain in their right mind would turn away the assistance of these mercs!
Game-wise, you can find the rules for the Gunhauler HERE and the Thunderers HERE. I won’t get into their rules too much. I will say that the Gunhauler makes for a very good escort ship. Also, that the Thunderers have access to all manner of firearms for their arsenal – something for EVERY occasion.
Model-wise I’m digging both these kits. They fit perfectly with the Kharadron Theme. The big difference is that these models are packed with firearms and shells for their mortars. It’s kind of the theme of these two units! I really liked the more ornate armor of the Grundstok Thunders in particular. It’s subtle, but compared to the Arkanaut Company, you can see the difference.
I also really like the Gunhauler’s little details. I loved the extra armaments it carried – especially that “drill-bit” mortar shell. It’s whacky-but-effective looking.
Overall, these two units are a great addition to the line-up for the Kharadron Overlords. If you’re looking for a few units to add some extra BOOM to your army then be sure to take a look at the Grundstok Mercs – they get the job done, as long as you got the Aethergold!
Grundstok Thunderers $40
The Grundstok Thunderers are militarised formations employed by the fleet to help defend it. The endless training and drilling conducted by the Grundstok Academies results in high standards of discipline and marksmanship in their graduates – upon commands from their officer, the Grundcaptain, they march, wheel and ready their aim with awe-inspiring speed and precision. Firing in near-perfect synchronicity, a line of Grundstok Thunderers temporarily disappears among eye-searing flashes and weapon reports as they unleash a storm of munitions that can halt even the most well-armoured foes in their tracks.
Grundstok Gunhauler $50
Grundstok Gunhaulers streak through the air, weaving between the larger Arkanaut craft. They are two-duardin vessels tasked with eliminating threats before they have a chance to endanger the ships under their care. In this the Grundstok Gunhaulers are ideal, for they are fast and agile craft, being little more than a gun platform carried aloft by a buoyancy endrin. Their speed and agility, and their ability to deliver firepower at a moment’s notice, make them invaluable additions to every prospector’s arsenal.
