X-Wing: Star Wars 40th Anniversary Celebration
Star Wars is turning 40 this year and FFG is partnering with your local retailers for a special event!

“On May 25th, 1977, the world was first introduced to the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Empire, and a wretched hive of Scum and Villainy when Star Wars™: A New Hope debuted in theaters. The X-Wing™ Miniatures Game invites players to assemble squadrons of their favorite ships and pilots from these factions, and immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe. Beginning May 25th, you’re invited to attend a fun event and take home a unique prize to commemorate your fandom and the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars!”

Keep an eye out for this poster at your local store. If they have one there is a good chance they will be hosting events! One event is the Store Championships. Each Store Championship kit will come with 32 large alternate art cards featuring a special combo card of astromech R2-D2 and Intergrated Astromech:
“While supplies last, each player that attends will receive one copy of the R2-D2 and Integrated Astromech combination upgrade prize card.”

Needless to say, if you’re a fan of Star Wars, X-Wing or if you just want to support your local scene, then contact your local store to see if they are participating. If they are find out when the fun is going down and drop in for some Star Wars action. The Events are scheduled to start on May 25th or later – it’s up to the individual stores so double check so you don’t miss out.
