Unboxing: X-Wing: C-ROC Crusier
Scum & Villainy are ready to play with the “Big Boys” – The C-ROC is now available!
The C-ROC Cruiser is out and in stores now. If you’re looking for a impressive new ship for Scum, it doesn’t get much bigger than the C-ROC:
Epic play in Star Wars: X-Wing isn’t something that we cover a ton. But the fans that enjoy the larger scale will sing it’s praises if you ask them about it. The game really allows for a lot of different and new interactions that you just don’t see at the 100 point standard level. It also opens up the use of these massive models. And as a model, the C-ROC is really impressive, double for the fact that it’s a pre-painted model.
As far as expansion packs go, this one brings a TON of stuff to the game. But even if you’re not looking to play with the C-ROC this release is still important. I won’t go into all the details here – but this certainly feels like a release that is an attempt to tweak the M3-A “Scyk” Interceptor.
On top of the the “patch cards” for the Scyk, Scum also gets a ton of new crew cards to add to their squads. I think Jabba the Hutt and Vizago might even show up in more competitive lists – just give it time.
Jabba’s Ability will pay for itself if you load-up on the upgrades in your squad and Vizago will let you swap out your upgrades mid-game which can be extremely powerful. And as more Illicit upgrades come out Vizago is only going to become more powerful.
Overall, I really like this expansion. I would also like to call out the mission Smuggler’s Lament – it’s actually a really good linked campaign. You decisions will impact your squadron and the “allies” you make as well. It seems like a really neat way to play X-Wing in a different way. The C-ROC is in stores now, so if you’re a Scum player go pick one up and let us know how what you think!
