GW: Rumor Engine “Pineapples”
Games Workshop has a new teaser image out–the details are kinda small, so maybe we’ll have to blow this one up…
This week’s Rumor Engine looks ready to blow:
Okay, so those definitely look like a bundle of grenades–the only other thing I can think of is some kind of crushing gears–but they don’t look like they’re meant to fit together like that. No, the way that’s put together, it suggests a bunch of explosives, haphazardly cobbled together around some kind of detonator. That plate on the front has little bolts on it, which makes it feel like everything underneath is connected. It practically screams “countdown timer.” And that nob at near the right edge of the image could be an ominous, blinking red light.
This kind of “ingenuity” seems very on-brand for folks like the Genestealer Cults, in particular their Hybrids. Although, I could just as easily see this being the sort of weaponry that’s the result of good ol’ fashioned orkgineering. Maybe something put together by one of the Mek Boyz, or what have you. I’m not really sure who would use this kind of equipment in Age of Sigmar. Maybe the Arkanauts. Maybe. But it feels like it’d be more canisters of flammable Aetherium Gas than solid looking grenades like this. It definitely feels more 40K than anything else.
