Slaanesh has chosen to make the Shrine World of Valon Urr, deep within The Calixis Sector his own. After months of subtle preparation Lord Abraxas of the Emperor’s Children begins an open assault on the Fortress-Abbey of the Order of the Flame Eternal. A massive physic attack launched by the twisted Sorcerer Lord Scorpius batters the Sister of the Flame, and for a moment it seems as if the battle might end before it begins as the mental defenses of the Sisters within falter. However the Seraphim Superior Helena, the abbey’s paragon of faith is unaffected by the sorcerous assault. Where she passes the attack abates. His initial plan thwarted by the miracle of Helena, Lord Abraxas launches his forces headlong into battle.

Beaten, bloodied, but unbowed the survivors of the fortress-Abbey begin a desperate trek to safety. The Sororitas convoy heads to the nearby Imperial Astra Militarum depot, bring not only themselves, but the crypts of their revered saints and recently dead. But unknown to them, the Slaaneshi cult’s rot runs deep and Lord Abraxas sets a plan in motion. Just as the Sororitas close in on safety, a renegade PDF artillery company peels off to block their path. With rebel guns at their heels, the Sisters only chance of survival is to run and put their faith in the Emperor!
The gravely injured Cannoness Gertrude has led the battered remains of her Sister of the Flame Eternal to shelter at last. Here at the Holiest Shrine on Valon Urr the body of Helena and her fall Seraphim Sisters are laid to rest. Their mission complete the sisters are treated by the shrines medical staff and reinforced by the devoted guardians of the shrine. But the Evil Lord Abraxas is not done with the Sororitas yet, for he means this world to be his. Having punished the traitor Astra Miltarum who failed him, he drives their remnants before his warband as he launches an attack on the holy shrine itself. The final showdown has begun, but Helena’s greatest miracle is yet to come….
