Codex Astra Militarum has a lot of new regiments in it for the numberless ranks of the Astra Militarum. Here’s the best ones.

Sure we have rules for the 8 famous Regiments that have been around for decades – but I like the challenge and modeling opportunities of these new ones.

We’ll take these two at a time and talk about conversion possibilities – and what I would run them as based on their fluff.

Faeburn Vanquishers – look like standard Cadians models with an alternative paint-scheme – and mix in some female heads just for good show. I would also mix in some ministorum bits here and there to reflect their devout nature. Suggested Doctrine – Cadia

Truskan Snowhounds – alternative paintscheme Cadians with cowled headswaps (Grey Knights or old Bretonnians). Easily done. Suggested Doctrine – Valhallan

Ventrillian Nobles – I’d go with Cadians with Empire Pistolliers headswaps, and Empire swords. Suggested Doctrine – Vostroyans

Indigan Preafects – Genestealer Cult bodies with Skitarii heads and backpacks. Suggested Doctrine – Mordians (disciplined fire)

Athonian Tunnel Rats – A tough one. these look like a combo of Chaos cultists, CSM helmets and IG weapons.  Suggested Doctrine – Steel Legion (Hivers who use vehicles)

Miasman Redcowls – Skitari, and Cadian mashups with Empire bits. Suggested Doctrine – Catachans (flamer specialists)

Armageddon Ork Hunters – Catachans  – easy enough.

Mordant Acid-Dogs – Cathchans with Cadian headswaps. Suggested Doctrine – Whatever you want – kind of vague description.

~Which one would you do, and what doctrines would you pick?
