40K: Next Week – Custodes Clean Sweep
Next week the Adeptus Custodes step out from the Imperial Throne Room and into your pre-orders.
That’s right friends, next week the Custodes make their big debut. They are coming out into society as their own army, replete with Codex, new models, and even a swanky Limited Edition Codex, for those of you who will be representing the golden legion with actual gold. Everything goes up for Pre-order next Saturday, technically, so let’s take a look at what’s coming up.
First up is Trajann Valoris, who in addition to possibly having the most 40K name in recent years, is a swanky HQ for the Adeptus Custodes. See him glimmering in gold, striking a pose packed with power.
Styled after the rest of the Custodian Guard, he’ll look right at home leading your collection, while details like his magnificent cloak and ornate axe mark him clearly as a leader.
Then of course there’s the new hotness, the Allarus Custodes, who are clad in heavy terminator armor, and will ruin your face if given half a chance.
The Allarus Custodians combine the sleek silhouette of the Custodian Guard with the more brutal feel of Cataphractii Terminator armour; their appearance complimenting their baleful role on the battlefield as superb Character assassins. These guys are unbelievably durable and can teleport into the thick of fighting before cutting their foes down with a flurry of strikes. You’ll also be able to use the Allarus Custodians kit to build a Shield Captain to lead your forces, or a Vexillus Praetor, a flag-wielding commander that offers powerful bonuses to nearby units.

And then of course there’s the big book. Let’s start with the normal Codex, which does all the Codex-y things you’ve come to know and love. I will say, it feels interesting to consider another elite army in 40K–those are harder to pull off, but hopefully this Codex gives them some tricks to play with. Nobody needs another Grey Knights.
Bit wait, if you want a book that’s as expensive as your models–and just as sleek and fancy looking, there’s also the Special Limited Edition Codex.
Okay, say what you will, but much like Bobby Roode, this is Glorious. It definitely looks like it’s been plucked right out of the Imperial Archives.
Next week, you’ll also be able to pick up some of your favorite(?) characters all by their lonesome. Big Bobby G, St. Celestine, and Cypher are all going up for purchase as singles, rather than as a package deal. So whether you’re looking to add some incredibly powerful genetically engineered warriors in power armor to your army, or just some incredibly powerful, genetically engineered characters in power armor–next week has what you need.
Still holding out hope for Custodes Scouts.
