Geekery: We’re Getting Deadpool 2 Earli… er
Fox is changing up thier 2018/1019 release schedule – there’s some good and bad news for fans.
The release date for the Deadpool sequel has been moved up 2 weeks to May 18th. Confirmed by Ryan Reynolds on Twitter…

The Han Solo solo movie comes out May 25th. This move puts Wade and the gang a week before a Star Wars movie, which is a gamble when it comes to carrying the box office in the second week. That said, the Deadpool sequel strikes me as something fans want. The Solo movie? Not so much. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
There are more shakes ups in the schedule this year: three of the four scheduled movies connected to the X-Men franchise have been moved.
New Mutants has been moved almost a full year from April 2018 to February 2019. Gore Verbinski is now the third director that has abandoned Gambit. The projected release date has been moved from February of 2019 to June of 2019, if they make it at all. X-Men: Dark Phoenix will remain on November 2nd of this year… for now.
All of this shifting doesn’t exactly bode well, but Fox isn’t canceling any of these projects. Fans just have to wait longer.
What are your thoughts on these schedule changes?
