HORDES: Primus Jalaam Guns em Down
Primus Jalaam, the shooty warlock of skorne is finally here. We check out his far reaching shots today.
Who Is He?
A Skorne warlock with a Reiver crossbow, WHAT? That’s right Jalaam is here boys and girls. Skorne now has a Cygnar-like threat range warlock that can pick off his enemies from afar. If you were looking for a skorne shake up this is the warlock for you.
Skills/Stats/Abilities:
- Artifice of Deviation: Stealking Irusk2 spell he can give cover to valuable Skorne models. Titans might not get autohit even!
- Deadeye: Slingers can now hit a broadside of a barn and the enemy with this spell. Giving a Krea a 4th dice to hit could be devastating to a caster hiding.
- Scavenger’s Blessing: Prowl and Pathfinder on a model/unit. This can be dirty on a Titan or Aradus that normally would suffer shots on the way in.
- Vanish: Giving a little extra threat or being able to slink back after some shots gives some flexability.
- Warpath: This is SICK in Skorne. Even consider running Jalaam out of theme could be a nasty combo since Molik Karn can threathen for days with that extra 3″ move.
- Hunter/Prey/Grievous Wounds: Nothing wants to be the target of Jalaam’s shots.
- Resourceful: Even with this he will be fury starved most games.
- Hide in Sight: A rather powerful defensive feat. Unlike Fiona where you have to be in her control area to effect the enemy , the friendly Skorne models only need to be in Jalaam’s. This includes Archidons which can be 20″ away and still in feat.
A Jalaam List:
Winds of Death is the only theme that has slingers in it and slingers are terrible except with Jalaam. Slingers threaten high armor infantry with corrosion and constructs/warjacks with their erosion shot. Mix in some long range Venator Reivers and you have a pretty decent amount of shooting. Mix in some Aradus Soldiers and the Gladitor to increase threat you now have some rather rude front line of beasts.

Revenant’s Final Thought:
Jalaam is probably worth fielding just to have Warpath in Skorne. Throw in his ability to threathen casters from 20+” away with farstrike and vanish is rather hilarious in skorne too.
