A surprisingly complex strategy goes into this fun, quick card game featuring everyone’s favorite domesticated canines.

The Bark Side is a quick, competitive trick-taking card game with a doggo theme.

On each players turn, they will take a card from their hand of 10 and play it on the field. Each other player, in turn, must either play a card higher than that card, or their lowest valued card. This is called a ‘tail-tuck’. After a tail-tuck occurs, players can play sets of same-valued cards.

Once each player is down to their final card, the cards are revealed and compared. Whichever player has the highest card takes the highest card and the two lowest cards and keeps them in their scoring area.  The remaining cards are reshuffled and dealt out for the next round.

The game ends when one player has collected 7 different types of dog or if there aren’t enough cards to distribute for another round. Whichever player has the fewest cards wins the game!

The Bark Side is currently funding on Kickstarter.

The Bark Side is a light, innovative trick-taking game for 3-5 players in 30 minutes.

Your goal is to avoid winning the last trick of the round. But winning earlier tricks allow you to strip other players of their lowest cards, increasing your chances for that final turn.

That tension – managing high and low cards, balancing each trick against your longer strategy – sets The Bark Side apart from the pack.
