GW 40 Year Anniversary & Co-founder’s Tweet Extravaganza
GW turned 40 years old and co-founder Ian Livingstone has been tweeting about the anniversary.
Hard to believe that it is 40 years since Steve Jackson and I opened our first Games Workshop retail shop in April 1978 in a little side street in West London. The queue outside was inspiring! pic.twitter.com/SlyOfgEqHZ

Celebrating 40 years since we moved Games Workshop from a tiny office in Shepherds Bush to our first shop in Hammersmith on 1st April 1978. Here’s the announcement in White Dwarf. Six copies of D&D on offer for 50p each! Bargain. Amazing memories. pic.twitter.com/WBMNiJ5exk

Celebrating 40 years since Steve Jackson and I opened our first Games Workshop retail shop in April 1978. We should do a reunion photo with everybody in the queue. I met Oliver (photo) last year who was first in line but where are the others? Please contact me! #wherearetheynow pic.twitter.com/rCA2MBPbW0

You should take a look at the Dice Men book going over the early history of the company and fund the project if you are interested. It looks pretty good with lots of old photos and hard to find reprintings of early company materials.
