Titanicus Rumors: Launch Latest Info
We’ve all been waiting for the newly reimagined Adeptus Titanicus to get off the ground. Another venerable rumormonger throws his info into the mill.
It’s been pretty quiet on the Adeptus Titanicus front this year. We’ve talked about how the game has Gone Missing, and a couple of months back we got an AMA over on Reddit from GW Alumni James Hewett that touched upon the game’s fate.
What Happened?
You should go back to read all about what we know happened to the game, but in a nutshell, the game was originally designed as a fairly detailed resin-miniatures based Specialist Game. Something to appeal to very well-heeled 30K type of gamer. Then the big success of Blood Bowl took the company by surprise and they realized they wanted to retool it entirely for a more mainstream product launch.
Dreaming of this – in plastic!
While the AMA revealed the rules had been nailed down for at least a year, retooling for a mainstream release means plastic minis, and that means making at least three new kits for Warhounds, Reavers, and Warlords on sprue. Then you have to deal with resources, schedules, and different scales of costs compared to cranking them out a la carte on Forge World resin spincasters.
Thus the delay…
We’ve heard late last year that “it’s coming in 2018” but that’s pretty vague.
WHEN WHEN WHEN?
Finally, some rumors have shaken loose from the tree and industry insiders tell BoLS:
Look for the product to finally reach the market in Q3 of this year.
If 40K Orks are coming in Summer of this year, this would put Titanicus as the big Specialist Games release as summer comes to an end. It can’t get here soon enough.
I want this – but 30 years later!
