Warmachine: Jussika Bloodtongue Slaughter Fleet Tactics
The Cryx Slaughter Fleet has arrived! With it comes the fearsome Jussika Bloodtongue, let’s take a look at this new command attachment for Blighted Trollkin units.
Jussika can be attached to any Blighted Trollkin unit, which right now means choosing between the Bloodgorgers and Blighted Trollkin Marauders. For either unit, she brings some welcome additions and fixes some issues the units would otherwise have without her. One of the more subtle, but very important improvements Jussika brings is a CMD 9 which allows this 11 trooper unit to spread out a lot more on the table.
Bloodgorgers are the most obvious unit for Jussika to attach to, with Vengeance and Bloodthirst this SPD 5 unit is suddenly screaming across the table into melee with your opponent. If Bloodgorgers get a Vengeance move and then charge a living model they threaten an impressive 14 inches! In melee is exactly where the Bloodgorgers want to be. With Unyielding, Tough and No Sleeping on the Job from Jussika this unit becomes a serious tarpit to chew through.
Just because Bloodgorgers work so well with Jussika doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider her with the Marauders as well. The Blighted Trollkin Marauders will get their own review soon so I won’t dive too much into them right now, but they also greatly benefit from Vengeance, Relentless charge and No Sleeping on the Job. It’s worth noting that No Sleeping on the Job affects all Blighted Trollkin in her CMD range, not just her unit. So any Blighted Trollkin solos or members of another unit nearby are all immune to knockdown.
The Slaughter Fleet theme force is where Jussika and her Blighted Trollkin brethren will see play. Let’s take a look at a cool module that you can mix and match with any caster in Slaughter Fleet.
- Max Bloodgorgers with Jussika Bloodtongue – 20pts
- Max Blighted Trollkin Marauders – 15pts
- General Gerlak Slaughterborn – 6pts (free in theme)
- Axiara Wraithblade – 6pts
This is a 41pt module that can go into any Slaughter Fleet list. Axaira brings Tactician for living models to the table, allowing all of the Trollkin to move through each other. This lets both the Bloodgorgers and Marauders intermix and all benefit from Jussika’s bubble of no knockdown. Lastly, General Gerlak brings a nice +1 to attack rolls for Blighted Trollkin and gives the Bloodgorgers Berserk, allowing them to potentially surf through enemy models with ease.
What do you think of this module in your Slaughter Fleet list? Would you take Bloodgorgers or Marauders without Jussika?
