AoS: Everchosen & Slaves To Darkness Faction Focus
The Bad Boys of AoS are getting a preview of things to come in June. Come see what the Chaos Faithful are bringing to the tabletop when Warhammer: Age of Sigmar 2.0 hits the tabletop!
“In the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Archaon and his Chaos hordes are still very much at the forefront of the narrative, and the Varanspire, Citadel of the Everchosen, still dominates the strategically important Allpoints – a fortress at the very heart of the Mortal Realms.”
The Mortal followers of Chaos represent a wide variety of play styles. You could bring the horde with tons barbarians and fast moving horsemen. You could load-up on terrifying Warbeasts. You could bring the legions of chaos armor wearing warriors. And then there is the Everchosen – a faction of Chaos Lords who swear fealty to Archaon himself! Talk about an elite fighting force…
And speaking of loyalties – each unit in these forces can take a mark of chaos that gives you boons from your chosen chaos god. If you want to collect and play a highly customizable fighting force, the Followers of Chaos have lots of options for you!
Chaos is getting some great changes from the sound of things. If you want to bring a powerhouse like Archaon to the tabletop, then check out this new warscroll battalion:
“The Everchosen, in particular, have a deadly advantage in the new edition with the Overlords of Chaos warscroll battalion. Made up of Archaon, a Gaunt Summoner and a unit of Varanguard – all great units in their own right – this formation means that turn priority is always fifty-fifty, rather than providing either player with an advantage, as well as letting you know if you’re going to get a double turn or not. We reckon 1600 points of Everchosen built around this warscroll battalion with 400 points of Slaves to Darkness allies is a pretty awesome army for the new edition.”
The Chaos Gods might be fickle, but fate can be a cruel mistress. With this new battalion you’ll always have a 50/50 shot at the turn priority. On top of that, Match Play fans should know that the points have been looked at. Get ready for point reductions for the Varanguard, the Chaos Warshrine, and yes, Archaon!
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are lots more changes coming and GW is promising to preview those in due time. But here’s one more fun fact to tide you over:
“We’ve had loads of questions about Archaon’s command ability in the new edition, and how it will function with heroes all being able to use their unique command abilities. Archaon will be receiving some small changes in the new edition, but his command ability will remain almost unchanged – and will still be one of the most powerful in the game.”

It might be time to bite the bullet and pick-up some Varanguard – one of the most expensive (money wise) in the game…My wallet weeps.
What do you think of these changes? Are you looking forward to what these agents of chaos are going to be able to do in AoS 2.0?
