Dungeons and Dragons had a strong showing at Origins Game fair this year. Come sit down with Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins to talk about Waterdeep Dragon Heist.

Welcome to Waterdeep, the City of Splendors–home of merchants, masked lords, criminals, and adventurers. And I guess regular people too, because not everyone in the city will be loaded for bear. Regardless, welcome to a city on the edge of adventure…

Waterdeep is also the subject of today’s video, taken from this year’s Origins Games fair.  In it, you’ll find Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins talking about the villains, seasons, and characters from the upcoming D&D adventures set squarely within its  Walls.

There are a few glimpses of the adventure, they talk about the seasonal nature of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. Depending on what season you start the game in, your players will be facing different villains, which we knew–but each season also comes with its own seasonal events.

So you might find parades or people dressing in costume or the like. You could play Dragon Heist three or four times, and get a different experience out of it each time, which is pretty cool.

They also touch on the Dungeon of the Mad Mage. Here we learn about the other powerful figures skulking in the shadows of Undermountain. But more interestingly, we get a glimpse of how players might find each section of the dungeon. Once again, there are 23 different levels with each one having its own theme.

As they say, it’s a lot like going to a museum–you can choose which dungeon experience you want (Mind Flayer, Drow, etc.) and venture beyond even Undermountain.

Both Dragon Heist and Dungeon of the Mad Mage will be releasing later this year, so stay tuned for more news as it develops.

Happy Adventuring!
