This funky looking, functional car can transform into robot with the push of a few buttons – with passengers inside of it.

The J-deite RIDE is functional vehicle that can carry 2 passengers, and transform into a 12 foot tall robot that has the ability to walk very slowly. It can be operated by the driver or by remote control using wifi. It was created by a partnership between BRAVE ROBOTICS, Asratec Corp, and Sansei Technologies.

It’s definitely a long way away from the giant robots we see on screen, but the engineering behind it is still pretty darn cool. The designers made it as something fun to be used at amusement parks and events. I’d totally try it out if given the opportunity.
