Privateer Press: Wreck Face, Get Paid – Riot Quest
Wreck Face and Get Paid in a post-apocalyptic world next year–there’s a new miniatures game coming from Privateer Press. What is Riot Quest? Come join us and let’s find out.
First up, here’s the teaser announcement for Riot Quest. Talk with the bejeweled, uh, let’s go with mercenary known as Bamfist and learn about what’s going down in a post-apocalyptic world that’s full of treasure just waiting to get looted.
So to reiterate, ruined world full of treasure, full of models that definitely look like they’re from a not that far in the future Immoren, Riot Quest is a skirmish game. Requiring a low model count and taking only around 20 minutes or so to play–the game looks like it’ll be more in line with individual type skirmish games rather than something like Company of Iron–you’ll take control of a few characters and battle it out.
Presumably from all the “get paid” references they threw around in the video, you’re supposed to collect some kind of loot from the ruined battlefield–echoes of Mordheim or the like.
Admittedly Mordheim with a sci-fi paladin with a lightning lance in it. Still–you get the gist of the idea. It’s a new game, but it’s coming into a crowded market, so the game will have to find something to take hold of the audience. With games like Privateer’s own Company of Iron, Aristeia, and Shadespire out there as some top notch skirmish games, I’m curious to see what this game will do to stand out.
You can find the Keynote address below where they talk a little more about the game, but there’s not very much to go on. I’m wanting more details on this game, but you can be sure BoLS will keep an eye out for them.
How many times can one person say Riot Quest before it loses all meaning?
