Starting early next year you’ll be able to fight your Nerf battles with iconic weapons from Overwatch, the immensely popular video game. The first blaster you can pick up is based on Reaper’s Hellfire Shotgun.

Overwatch has become an extremely popular game since it’s release – it currently has 40+ million registered accounts and a professional eSports league that includes players from all over the globe attached to it. The partnership between Hasbro and Blizzard was announced a few months back. The first run of products will be a series of NERF Rival Overwatch blasters; the first of which will be out in January of next year. The two companies debuted the that blaster at SDCC – a Reaper Wight Hellfire Shotgun.

The Wight skin is one of several epic skins available for the Overwatch Character…

This is Reaper’s signature weapon in Overwatch, and they are aiming to make the blaster look just like the ones in the game. It comes with custom Overwatch rounds (the Rival line uses foam balls rather than darts) that are color keyed to the weapon (this will be true of all of the blasters made based on the game). The Reaper blaster holds eight rounds, and can shoot them at 90 feet a second using a spring activated mechanism. It also features a ready indicator and a safety lock. It looks like it might be based off the Atlas XVI-1200 Blaster.

It’s a good rendition for a Nerf gun. Hopefully we’ll see some actual production models and the ammo in the near future.
