Adam Harry and Goatboy sit down with the new Space Wolves Codex. Come join them as they talk new units, points, and army goodness.

According to my coworkers I’m not ready to handle the new Space Wolves codex–maybe one day when I’m older, but for now I’m just not ready for an army full of characters, monsters, vikings, werewolves, and more lightning than you can shake a stick at. But while I might not be ready to handle it, you probably are, so come join us as we take you through Codex: Space Wolves.

As you might have gathered from the previews we’ve seen, Space Wolves seem to be all about the characters. They have a few new toys now, especially in the form of the Wulfen Dreadnought and all the latest Primaris packs–and quick aside, does it feel to anyone else like this is just sort of the first wave of Primaris? I know GW likes their marines, and these beefy boys, your primaris pals who’re fun to be around, seem like they aren’t getting everything they could be. It almost feels like there’s another wave of Primaris around the corner.

But enough side-speculation. Let’s talk Units. So you see a lot of tweaks to the units, which means you’ll be paying different prices for your Space Wolf Space Boys. But one of the places where Space Wolves really shine is in their characters. There’s a lot of stratagemery that promotes having a character get buffed with an aura. Whether because of psychic spells giving nearby units a protective ward, or having a character complete an Epic Saga and transform their single ability into an area one.

It feels like the book has been long overdues, with Space Wolves finally being on par with the Blood and Dark Angels in terms of having access to the full Astartes armory and the engineered might of Cawl’s science projects. Your mileage my vary.

But either way, tell us what you think of the new codex, and in particular if it feels like the Space Wolves have enough characters in their lists.
