Geekery: Things Get Tense in New ‘Bad Times at The El Royale’ Trailer
Drew Goddard, the producer behind The Martian, comes back down to earth for this thriller set in a strange hotel in the swinging sixties – and it comes with some great names on the cast list.
Seriously, it’s a great list: Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Offerman, and Chris Hemsworth. Goddard, who also worked on Cabin in the Woods, spins a tale set in a hotel that sits in two states… and it gets weird fast.
Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at a run-down hotel in Lake Tahoe in 1960s California. Over the course of a fateful night, they all get one last shot at redemption before everything goes wrong.
Great cast and director, good production design, a pitch perfect soundtrack, and a compelling story? Count me in.
Bad Times at the El Royale hits theaters October 12th.
