Okay, I’m not going to talk about how Root has held the top spot for months now.
We have a lot of new games on the Hotness this week and by some weird coincidence 2 games about Mesoamerica, which I think is a underutilized culture in media. Everyone loves the Vikings, but wheres the love for the Aztecs?! Regardless, not a whole lot to talk about for this week, so let’s jump right into the fun stuff and get talking about a game I’ve personally been really excited for for a while: Tiny Epic Mechs.
Tiny Epic Mechs
Tiny Epic Mechs is a competitive tactical combat game with modular miniatures and action programming.
Tiny Epic Mechs pits players against each other in action programmed combat. In each round, players will plan out their turn selecting four of the eight available actions. If you’ve never played an action programming game, this can seem daunting. But the not knowing is half the fun! The first few rounds will likely have players running around in their Power Armor and collecting weapons. As players move around the arena, if any two players cross paths, combat begins! Players are locked in combat until one player is out of ammo or they are defeated. However, there is a single powerful Mech Suit which can be claimed by whoever reaches it first!
The game uses modular pieces to display what equipment you carry.
In each combat, each weapon can only be fired once, so the more weapons a player has, the better off they are! In addition the running out of ammo, players will have to be aware of their weapons types and how they will interact with the other weapon types. In a Rock, Paper, Scissors type of system, each weapon has a type which can counter one other type, but is vulnerable to another.
With proper timing, you can counter your opponent’s attacks and unleash a powerful counter attack. Performing such a devastating and skillful maneuver is a great way to earn the favor of the crowd, which is a surefire way to achieve victory. Additionally, points are earned for territory controlled and for each weapon owned. After the six rounds of play, whichever player has the most points wins!
