Geekery: The Horror of Hill House is Coming to Netflix
Shirley Jackson’s classic horror novel is getting a new adaptation with a script by director Mike Flanagan.
Timothy Hutton (Leverage, The Dark Half), Carla Gugino (Gerald’s Game, Watchmen), and Henry Thomas (Ouija: Origin of Evil) star in this multigenerational tale of horror. The story has been told in two movies – one worth it’s salt, the other not so much. It seems that Flanagan has made some pretty big changes from the original story.
“The Haunting of Hill House explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past — some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.”
I’m hoping for a real trailer soon; the look Netflix has provided so far doesn’t say much.
The 10 episode series debuts on Netflix October 12th.
