It’s that time of the week when GW drops another preview of an upcoming model on the internet and we all take our best guesses as to what it is. This time, GW has let the Rumor Engine decide for itself…

We joked last week (see fact 331) about what would happen if the Rumour Engine showed us a picture of itself… and now it gives us this. Oh dear.

And just for reference, here is the “joke” from the 500 facts post:

Fact #331 – The Rumour Engine has yet, as far as we’re aware, to show a picture of itself. It’s said that should that happen, the Rumour Engine has become self-aware and humanity would be doomed.

So either today is the birth of Skynet and we’re all doomed…Or maybe it’s just a teaser for an upcoming miniature and we’re all going to be okay. For now.

So what could this possibly be a teaser image for? My gut reaction is Adeptus Mechanicus because MACHINES:

However, as much as I want this to be a teaser for some new Adeptus Mechanicus stuff, they aren’t really know for their open consoles. Unlike a faction like the Astra Militarum who have had screens on their miniatures:

Even the insides of the Space Marine Vehicles have random consoles and screens:

These dials are probably part of Imperial Machinery – but what if that machinary has been re-purposed by another faction…

Just a thought…
