The Disney+ exclusive series is in production now, and news is starting flow. Showrunner Jon Favreau gave fans a tiny behind the scenes peek at the show, and now we’re getting confirmation of cast members. Narcos fans will want to pick up a subscription when the streaming service drops.

This is set to be one of the big drivers for new streaming service. If reports are to be believed Disney has spent a pretty penny on the 10 episode first season of The Mandalorian – at least $100 million according to sources around the net. Disney is gathering a really interesting team for this one. They’ve put together an all star directing team to lend their talent to the series: Star Wars alum Dave Filoni will direct the first episode Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). They’ve also picked up some great cast members so far. I’m sure there will be names dropping over the next several weeks.

Pedro Pascal (confirmed series lead role, as The Mandalorian) – Game of Thrones, Narcos, Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Gina Carano (confirmed) – Deadpool, Haywire, former MMA star

Carl Weathers (rumored) – Predator, Rocky, Colony

There are a lot of fan theories about the plot for the series about it being focused on the restoration of Mandalore, or maybe it’s going to be a looser format with the lead traveling around and taking jobs. This is all that’s has been confirmed so far…

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Hopefully we’ll be getting solid dates and some more information on the story as production progresses. Based on the announcements and photos we have so far, the series looks really promising.
