Geekery: The Leprechaun Returns in Goofy ‘Leprechaun Returns’ Trailer
One of the longest running horror franchise is adding a new chapter that includes living off the grid, sorority girls, a small Irish man that really likes gold… and death by solar panel. This is definitely looks like one for B movie fans.
The first movie came out in 1993, and starred Warwick Davis as the wickedly greedy leprechaun. Since then the character has been to the hood (twice), a wedding, space, Las Vegas, and back to the beginning. He’s now appearing in podunk to pester a bunch of young people that are just trying to do right by the environment by taking their sorority house off the grid and making it environmentally sustainable.
Steven Kostanski (The Void) directed the return with Linden Porco (Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block) in the title role. It’s going to be filled with horrible jokes, over-acting, and crazy deaths – as it should. It wouldn’t belong in the franchise without them. Leprechaun Returns hits digital on December 11, and will air on Syfy in March next year.
