40K: Genestealer Cults Coming To Warhammer World Open Day
Just a quick teaser to end your day or kickstart a new one–Genestealer Cults are slithering out from the shadows at this weekend’s Warhammer World Open Day, come check ’em out.
Genestealer Cultists can’t be far off now. In fact, given that they’re featured so prominently in the teaser art for the upcoming Open Day, I’d say it’s a fair bet (though not a sure one) that they’re going to be announced on Sunday. We’ve already seen a swath of new models for them, including those amazing three-armed gunslingers, the bikers, and the guy on an ATV who rode in from Far Cry 5.
All of which adds up to a bubbling mix of ready-to-be-released, especially when you consider that they are proudly on display next to the Gloomspite Gitz, who will be releasing this weekend. And so with that out of the way it leaves room for another band of creepy-lookin’ man-eating monsters that live underground.
It’s going to be a heck of a weekend–but let’s take a look back at what Genestealer Cult models we’ve seen so far.
There’s the Abominant and his friend, who featured in Tooth and Claw alongside the new aberrant sculpts. Then there are the bikers (and our ATV riding friend up there).
Very excited to see what else drops this weekend. But in the meantime, we’ll have to keep our eye on the dark, supposedly uninhabited corners of the world, hoping to see what comes crawling up out of the dark places of the world to devour humans, spread their own particular brand of creepy gribbliness, and cover the face of whatever world they’re inhabiting with an all-consuming darkness that inevitably heralds something much more dire following in the wake of their seemingly numberless throngs.
Which makes me wonder: who would win in a fight? Genestealer Cultists or Goblins?
