40K: Rules For Venatari Custodians Revealed
Well that didn’t take long at all! The Legio Custodies Custodian Venatari unit has rules for BOTH The Horus Heresy and Warhammer 40,000! Come see what they can do on the tabletop for each game!
When we saw the models pop-up yesterday on the Forge World site, I wondered how long it would be before we got rules for them in 40k. Apparently GW was planning ahead because not only are they putting these models up for Pre-Order today, they are also giving away their rules for FREE for both systems.

For 40k, they are exactly what you’d expect from the Adeptus Custodes – tough as nails, fast, and they hit pretty hard just to top it off. They come standard with the new kinetic destroyer and tarsus bucklers. The pistols are no joke at Str 6, AP -2 and 2 damage and they have an 18″ range with 2 shots! Plus, their special rule score them an extra hit when they roll a natural 6 to hit.
The Tarsus Bucklers are also pretty mean as they basically ignore armor pen of AP -1 weapons altogether. Have fun shooting at these guys before they get to you because the can still kick butt in close-combat. And if you want to use them in Matched Play, they have points too:
Custodes are getting a pretty nice unit with these new high-flying Venatari Custodians. Finally, something to keep-up with all those Captains on Jetbikes, amirite?!
What do you think of the Custodian’s new unit? Would you run these with your Adeptus Custodes forces?
