Geekery: The Opening of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Entirely in Lego

 

This huge, action filled diorama contains thousands of pieces and hundreds of hours to build.

It’s one of the most memorable openings to a movie ever. The first time we see Indiana Jones sets up the expectation for the entire franchise – action, adventure, and comedy. It’s a great introduction.

Caleb Watson showed off this huge diorama he built – complete with skeletons, golden idol, massive boulder, and plane – at BrickCon in Seattle. It has six motors that animate the booby traps, cycle the rolling boulder into place, and add some motion to the minifigs.
