Paranormal investigators, invading aliens, and soaring firebirds. Come check out this week’s batch of Kickstarter highlights!

The Art of Privateer Press by Privateer Press

Let’s start the week off with a campaign for an artbook. Privateer Press is currently looking to fund a hardcover artbook featuring art from throughout the company’s history, from the original d20 Iron Kingdoms RPG until now. To sweeten the deal, Privateer Press is offering a miniature for their upcoming skirmish game Riot Quest. The Mercenary character solo J.A.I.M.s is a reinterpretation of the Iron Maiden from the original Monsternomicon, and can be used in Riot Quest and Warmachine/Hordes. The miniature will get a general release sometime next year, so here’s your chance to get it early. You can buy both the artbook and the miniature for $57.

War of the Worlds: The New Wave by Grey Fox Games

War of the Worlds: The New Wave is a competitive board game for two players set 20 years after the events of the original novel. Humanity has begun to rebuild following the Martian invasion that decimated the world, only for a second invasion force to arrive. This asymmetric game places one player in control of the Martians, while the other controls the British military. The Martian player is trying to wipe out the entire population of Great Britain, while the human defender must deal enough damage to the Martian war machines to force them to retreat. Pledges start at $39 for the base game.

Western Legends: Ante Up! by Kolossal Games

Kolossal Games is currently funding the first big box expansion to their hit Wild West adventure board game, Western Legends. Ante Up! offers a new side board filled with places players can go, as well as tons of new characters, items, goals, and new gambling minigames. You can get the new expansion for $38.

RGG 360° by Redgrass Games

The RGG 360° is a new ergonomic painting handle for miniatures. Perhaps the most noteworthy feature is where the handle gets its name, a rotating head that can be twisted with just one finger. Miniatures are connected to the handle via a reusable putty. You can get one for yourself for $11.

Tsuro: Phoenix Rising by Calliope Games

Phoenix Rising is the latest version of the popular path-making game, Tsuro. Each player controls a phoenix blazing a trail across the night sky as they chase lanterns. When a phoenix reaches a lantern, they turn it into a star, and the winner is the first player to build a constellation of 7 stars. You can get a basic version of the game for $40, or a Kickstarter exclusive version with upgraded components for $55.

AVGhost Paranormal Investigations by Mystical Games

Finally, we come to AVGhost Paranormal Investigations, a rather unique idea for an adventure board game that is played in the dark. Players control a team of paranormal investigators, each of which are represented by a miniature with an LED light in their base. Explore haunted locations gathering clues, and swap out the filters on your lights to take special actions. You can get a copy for $98.
