40K: Vigilus Ablaze – New Havocs & More Confirmations
Vigilus will burn. The Warmaster has arrived and he’s got a BUNCH of new friends coming with him.
It’s be a CRAZY day already. But the hits just keep coming. Not only is Abaddon back with a new model, but there were some more fun reveals in the announcement. Let’s go through them.
First off, we know the official name of Vigilus II:
Chaos has arrived in force on Vigilus, spearheaded by the Black Legion itself. Hardened by millennia of relentless combat and fresh from blood-soaked subjugations in the Imperium Nihilus, they are a force of nightmares, combining the ancient might of the Space Marine Legions with unspeakable and unholy gifts.
There are quite a few things on this cover that could be hits at what’s to come. First off, look at Abaddon’s retinue. I see a Plague Marine, and 3 more “non-standard” CSM. They are ALL Black legion however. Oh and what’s that right next to him:
A Book wielding CSM? Why does that seem familiar?
Next up, we also have the confirmation that there indeed NEW Havocs on the way:
What’s this Havoc carrying? Looks like the Warpsmiths have been cooking up some new guns. Emperor, help us all…
Not only did they specifically call out this model as a HAVOC – but we already know there are few more weapons on the way too:
Cry Havoc. Cause the War Dogs are coming…
GW also dropped a couple of pieces of Artwork that showcase some more fun times heading our way. Take a look at this Venomcrawler:
Those guns sure look like they are spouting FLAMES. We know that’s a possible variant of the Venomcrawler. We got a look at the Datasheet from Shadowspear and the main guns aren’t flamers. They don’t Auto Hit and have a 36″ range.
On the flip side, it could just be chalked up to artistic interpretation – the art does seem to match the model pretty spot on. Maybe they just went with that option because shoot flames looks cool.
Terminators in the lower center could also be a hint at more to come as well.
So just to recap:
- Vigilus II is officially called “Imperium Nihilus: Vigilus Ablaze”
- New Havocs are confirmed
- Whole lots of teasers in the artwork (possibly more units and updates on the way…)
