40K – Age of Sigmar: Syll’Esske Rules Unleashed
Now that the Daemons of Slaanesh have been unleashed upon the internet–and battlefields across the grim darkness of the distant future–we’ve got a look at some of the new rules that drive them. Today we’re taking a look at the performative nightmare of Syll’Esske.
Looking like they’ve come to the battlefield straight from an acro-yoga symposium in the park near where the vendors selling crystals, multi-purpose clothing wraps, and anything else you can think of as long as it’s both locally sourced and artisanal, Syll’Esske aka the Vengeful Alliance is what you get when you decide to cross Master Blaster with Cirque du Soleil.
They’re also a pretty fantastic model that’s a welcome addition to any Slaaneshi army. In the Age of Sigmar, they’re tough enough that you can hammer them against an enemy and dole out some serious damage–especially since you will (assuming you live) eventually get to make 12 attacks with a single model.
And with their Lithe and Swift rule, you won’t have to worry too much about getting them where they need to go. But where they really shine is as a disruption unit. Their unique spell, Subvert, will let you shut down enemy command abilities, which can be brutally devastating in the right circumstances. Combo that with the aid of their Regal Authority ability and you’ll be ready to squeeze the most out of that clutch turn.
Now let’s turn our gaze to 40K, where Syll’Esske are an incredible character for all your Slaanesh Daemons.
+1 to hit and to strength is pretty spicy no matter who wields it. Plus they’ll get 8 attacks each time, on top of the 6″ range of their whip. Syll’Esske can be a brutal pick as a Warlord/General backup Warlord. With magic and psychic powers helping the two performers to hit well above their weight class, Syll’Esske are a great addition.
