D&D: Revisit A Legend With Heroes Of Baldur’s Gate
Heroes of Baldur’s Gate is an adventure that takes players back to Baldur’s Gate, from the designers that made it famous.
The folks at Arcanum Worlds are busy. James Ohlen, designer of Baldur’s Gate I & II is about to take a new batch of folks to the Western Heartlands of Faerun, where stands the legendary city, Baldur’s Gate. This adventure looks particularly exciting, because it promises not only to take you into the city, but also pulls in a lot of intrigue and an interesting cast of characters.
Companions like Minsc and Jaheira were some of the best parts of the game, and now you’ll have a guide to adding them in. If that doesn’t grab you, maybe check out the new Epic Backgrounds, which are designed to give you “strong motivations” in the story, with a built in story quest that unlocks more as you accomplish your goals.
But what interests me the most is the Campaign Guide, which looks like a great framework or model for how to find and discover adventure hooks in the wild. If you’re interested in checking this out, it just released on the DM’s guild, and you can either grab a printer-friendly PDF or a hardcover, premium color book right now. All this from James Ohlen and Jesse Sky, who are currently hard at work with the Odyssey of the Dragonlords.

The city of Baldur’s Gate is the pride of West Faerûn—a mercantile stronghold ruled by the famous Grand Dukes.
