Aquaman‘s James Wan takes on Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson’s classic character in a new streaming series.
SWAMP THING follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.
Hopefully, the horror bent will separate it from Titans and Doom Patrol, and allow it to push some different boundaries. When the series was announced Wan, who is acting as exec producer, wanted to let fans know that he’d do right by the beloved monster and that he’d “been developing this ‘vegetarian hero’ for awhile … with a great team. Expect — mood, mystery, gothic romance, and swamp monsters!”
