40K RUMORS: More Primaris Characters On the Way
The rumormill is grinding away, and saying that Calgar was only the beginning.
A new Codex Space Marines is only a matter of time. It’s probably sooner than later. Already in the last few months we have seen:
- Primaris Calgar
- Shadowspear New Primaris Units
- Beta Bolter Rules
- White Dwarf Crimson Fists Rules
- New Primaris Iron Hand Character
- Space Marine New Tank
That’s a lot. A whole lot and as we all know, GW will only let things get so messy and disorganized before they sweep it all up into a new codex.
Going back 6 months or so, we can see that several of the Primaris New Unit rumors have panned out.
- New Heavy Weapon unit – CHECK
- New Heavy Tank – CHECK
What is missing are an Assault unit and a small “maneuver unit” like a Primaris bike-equivalent. In any case it is obvious that whenever that new Codex Space Marines arrives, it is going to have a LOT of new Primaris units in it. We’ve seen over 6 already.
The RUMORS
But today’s rumors comes from industry professionals who sat that that Iron Hands character is only the beginning.
- Look for multiple Chapters to get new character models.
- These will all be Primaris
- Some will be new, some will be redos (a la Calgar)
Thoughts
Calgar has obviously already crossed the Rubicon Primaris. Looking through the codex gives us these characters:

Ultramarines: – Telion (I bet he chooses to stay Classic-marine)

Iron Hands: New Character – PRIMARISIED
White Scars: – Kor’sarro Khan (note there’s been a bit of White Scars rumor chatter recently)
Salamanders: – Vulkan He’stan
Raven Guard: – Kayvaan Shrike
Imperial Fists: – Captain Lysander
Crimson Fists: – Pedro Kantor
Black Templars: – High Marshal Helbrecht
Black Templars: – Chaplain Grimaldus
I think that GW is keen on pushing Primaris marines and will want to get each Chapter with codex chapter traits a single Primaris Character as soon as possible. That puts the following minis on the “hot list”. I would not be surprised to see new versions of several of these to show up alongside the codex:
White Scars: – Kor’sarro Khan
Salamanders: – Vulkan He’stan
Raven Guard: – Kayvaan Shrike
Imperial Fists: – Captain Lysander
Crimson Fists: – Pedro Kantor (they have White Dwarf chapter rules now)
Black Templars: – High Marshal Helbrecht
