Today on Tabletop Spotlight, we take you through a new supplement for the Monster of the Week RPG: the Tome of Mysteries.

Monster of the Week is an RPG inspired by shows like X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or Supernatural, which all feature a monster of the week. It’s an RPG based on the Apocalypse World engine, so it’s Powered by the Apocalypse (or PbtA) which means it’s a more narrative-driven game with “playbooks” and “moves” that your characters will make to further the story along while diving into more meaty character-based scenes. It also means you’ll find a ton of rules, prompts, and guidelines to help you tell these kinds of monster-of-the-week stories, including a new batch of them in the Tome of Mysteries.

So get ready to get Weirder, because the Tome of Mysteries is as much about experiencing them, as it is solving them.
