Games Workshop has a new Apocalypse Website – the future home of all the digital downloads you’ll need to play!

Apocalypse is coming soon and if you’re like me, you’re counting the days until you can get your hands on your army’s datasheets. We’ve gotten a few teasers about how those datasheets will be different already, but the eventual home is the new Apocalypse Website GW has created.

“Eager to learn more about Apocalypse? We’ve got some great news – we’ve just finished work on our dedicated Apocalypse website.”

Right now, the website has some basic info about Apocalypse and what’s in the actual Apocalypse boxed set. More importantly, it’s got a video of How to Play Apocalypse. But that’s not what we’re most excited about. The best news is that this site will be the home for all your Datasheets!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m personally glad to get a video that breaks down the basics – but eventually I’ll know how to play. But having all the datasheets online for FREE is a big deal. GW experimented with giving away unit rules with AoS and that seems to have worked out pretty well for them. Now they are doing the same thing for Apocalypse and we here at BoLS are stoked.

This is great for anyone that’s just curious about the game – now you can see what you’re collection would look like as an Apoc Army. And furthermore, it’s a single source for datasheets for ALL players – we can all be on the same page and quickly find unit rules if we have questions. That will squash a lot of arguments before they happen – and I’m thankful for that!

If you have an 40k army, and you’re remotely interested in Apocalypse, all you’ll need to do to try the game is track down the core rules, download your army’s data sheets and find a friend to play it with. For veteran 40k players, the barrier to entry starts off pretty low. I’m guessing a lot of folks are going to either split the cost of a starter box between one another or they are going to purchase a set (or two) for their gaming club.

For the most part, the only thing you can’t double-up on is the Command Asset cards. At the same time there are 400 cards to build a 30 card deck from – if you’re not playing the same factions, then that really shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Oh and I guess some folks will want their own D12s. But it’s not like those are hard to find either. If you play at your FLGS, you might want to mention you’re interested in picking up some D12s – they can probably help you out with a bulk order.

Apocalypse officially launches at Warhammer Day which is June 29th. Be sure to check out the Apocalypse site for your datasheets when they get added!
