Geekery: Three Vastly Different Horror Movies Coming Out This Fall
Horror season is gearing up. These three are from across the genre – a crazed stalker with a horrible haircut, a comedy with zombies and baseball bats, and a story that might make you question your sanity.
The Fanatic – in theaters on August 30th, digital on September 6th
Directed by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, stars John Travolta and Devon Sawa. I’m not sure if I need to explain any further, but here’s the official synopsis anyway:
Moose is a rabid movie fan who is obsessed with his favorite celebrity action hero, Hunter Dunbar. When he is cheated out of his opportunity to finally meet Hunter, Moose gets a little help from his friend Leah, a well-connected paparazzi photographer, who knows how to find celebrity homes. Moose turns to stalking to get the celebrity interaction he feels he deserves, and while harmless at first, Moose’s actions begin to take a dark turn as his obsession grows stronger. As the visits continue to escalate, Hunter Dunbar finds himself in increasing danger.
Zombieland: Double Tap – October 18
It’s been about 10 years since we’ve seen the gang – Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone are all back. Writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick are also back, as well as director Ruben Fleischer. If you liked the first one, bets are you’ll like the sequel.
… through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

Daniel Isn’t Real – in theaters December 6
From director Adam Egypt Mortimer with a story based on In This Way I Was Saved by Brian DeLeeuw; and some clout from several producers that worked on Mandy, including Elijah Wood. Expect psychological horror with a lot of twists and turns and acid soaked visuals.
Troubled college freshman Luke (Miles Robbins) suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Patrick Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind — and his soul.
