Warcry Preview: Beasts Of Chaos
The beasts of the Eightpoints have been twisted and warped by the malevolent influence of Chaos–here’s how it empowers them in your Warcry games.
Warcry features many different fighters who have ventured to the Eightpoints, a wretched realm wracked by Chaos. But so pervasive and so corrupting is the presence of Chaos that it has twisted the very beasts that inhabit it. And at the same time, furious daemons flutter about in the skies, like a flock of depravity ready to descend on unsuspecting foes. There are two different ways they can show up on your battlefields–as Battleplan Twist cards, or as allies you can add to your Warbands. Let’s take a look.

To represent the Eightpoint’s varied (and violent) wildlife, many Warcry battleplan twist cards bring chaotic beasts into your battles. At launch, there are two types of chaotic beast that show up in your games – the airborne daemons known as Furies, and mutant avians called Raptoryx.
In play, they function as additional fighters you can activate on your turn, but you’ll wan to be careful–when choosing one of the Chaos Beasts, there’s a chance your opponent might get to activate them instead, which can really turn the tide at an inopportune time. The various Beasts can only be activated once, so will you activate them–and risk your opponent stealing your thunder–or leave them to your opponent?
As mentioned earlier though, you can add Chaos beasts to your warband as allies as you go around dominating territories. You’ll be able to add one Beast (or other model with the Thrall runemark) per territory you control.
Their abilities allow you to deal devastating amounts of damage, or to resist powerful attacks. Whether as allies or obstacles to get through, there’s a lot that Chaos Beasts add to your games.
Which beasts will you add to your warbands?
