Captain Morgan made his fortune pillaging from the Spanish. He is most well known for attacking Panama. While Captain Morgan was a real life Caribbean Pirate, I still know him best by the Rum named after him. 🙂

In Blood & Plunder by Firelock Games, you can play as Henry Morgan. In this post, I showcase a really well painted 28mm Miniature of Henry Morgan.

As a note, the commission painter guys at Forbes Hobbies painted this miniature up for me. Andrew Claessens painted Captain Morgan, while Jeremy Cada painted the ship in the background. Cigar Box Battle makes the battle mat I used for a backdrop in the photographs. They plan to run another Kickstarter soon. This is something for which you will want to keep your eyes open.

Now, let’s take a look at those pictures!!!

Captain Henry Morgan surveys the best route in the Jungles of the Caribbean. Such a nice model!

A little closer look at the Captain. Andrew does absolutely fantastic work!

A look at the details on the back of this miniature. Looks pretty good to me!

Andrew Claessens really impressed me when I got this model back. His painting is superb and is a pleasure to photograph! What do you think of this model?

Captain Morgan in Blood & Plunder

Captain Morgan costs 42 points in Blood and Plunder. That is a lot of points. You can get an entire force of 25 figures for 100 points or a “seasoned” but generic captain for 25 points. While Captain Morgan costs a lot, his abilities are quite good. Below is the stat-card for Morgan off of the Firelock Games‘ website.

Wrapping it up…

The miniatures for Blood & Plunder are absolutely gorgeous! They are even nicer when you get a talented painter (like the ones at Forbes Hobbies) to paint it up for you. Special thanks goes out to Andrew Claessens on this one! Also, if you have not checked out Firelock Games before, take a look at their site. Blood & Plunder still remains one of the prettiest games that I have ever seen. The miniatures look great and make the leap from great to fantastic when you add in their tall ships.

For more on Captain Morgan, I have a slightly longer article similar to this one on Must Contain Minis.
