Age of Sigmar: Ogor Mawtribes Magic Lores & Artefacts Preview
The Ogor Mawtribes got a TON of cool new stuff in their new Battletome. We’re taking a look at a few of their Magic Lores and Artefacts!
When it comes to devouring all who oppose you the Ogor’s are such an army! They make war so they can feast on the remains gaining strength and girth from the fallen. With the new Ogor Mawtribes book, they have gotten some updated lores as well as artefacts of power. Today, we’re taking quick look at a handful of them both!
Lore of Gutmagic
Gutmagic is usable by their Butchers and it involves GUTS! Also, a quick note – Firebellies also got their own lore with 3 more spells AND the army also has access to 3 Everwinter Prayers via the Beastclaw Raiders Preists. It’s a good time to be an Ogor!
Fleshcrave Curse is kind of strange in the sense that it can cause D6 moral wounds but they also get to add 1 to their melee weapons until the start of your next hero phase.
I’m also a fan of debuff spells like Greasy Deluge – causing your opponent to subtract 1 from hit rolls for their attacks is always nice as a defensive spell.
Artefacts of Power
When it comes to Artefacts of Power the Ogors have access to 4 different sets (on top of the unique one for each of the Mawtribe options). On top of the two sets below, they also have the Relics of the Everwinter (for Frostlords or Huskards) which has 6 more relics and they also have the Trophies of the Skal (for the Icebrow Hunters – but it only has 3 options).
Tyrant’s Plunder Artefacts
The Tyrants have quite the selection of relics from added extra damage to their Thundermace, to adding more rend to their Beastskewer Glaive. They even have the option to get 6 shots with their Ogor Pistols! Personally, I think I’d be interested in the movement boosts from Grawl’s Gut-plate. Nothing scarier than a really fast moving Ogor!
Butcher’s Vittles Artefacts
The Butcher’s Vittles are (obviously) for the Butcher. These are some nice utility boosts and a couple of “once per battle options” too. I like the Dracoline Heart to combine with the Great Mawpot – doubling up on that MASSIVE heal you can get. The Rotting Dankhold Spores are also another mean trick you can pull. If your Butcher is near the enemy popping that can cause a lot of damage at once.
The Ogors are (un)surpisingly tough and elite. They have some great options and I think this is an army that just might surprise folks. Beware the Great Maw…they are coming to take your lunch money, your lunch, and then probably eat you, too!
What spells from the lore and artefacts do you like?
