Age of Sigmar: FAQ Biggest Ups and Downs
The new FAQs have officially dropped, and there are some pretty big changes. Some armies got a nerf bat, other’s got a Neegan bat, but almost everybody got a change. Here’s some of the changes I found most substantial.
Slaanesh Depravity Summoning Increased – The cost to summon things with Depravity points has gone up, some fairly significantly. While this is certainly a well-deserved nerf to a very powerful army, I don’t think it’s going to drop the competitiveness too much. Still, Slaanesh players are going to have to work just a little harder to get their summons out there, so it may balance things a bit.
Warherd Point Drops – Doombulls and all other Warherd units from the Beasts of Chaos had their points reduced, making the bigger guys like the Cygor more viable on the tabletop. Expect to see several more in both Warherd and Brayherd units in the near future.
Treelord Point Drop – As above, every breed of Treelord, as well as the Everqueen herself, have had their points reduced. This will make bringing a Lords of the Clan or Free Spirits battalion more viable, so look forward to more giant tree dudes to hit the table soon.
Battleline Behemoths Ignore Limit – In armies where Behemoths can be taken as Battleline, like Beastclaws or Cities of Sigmar, Battleline Behemoths ignore the 4 unit limit. This is going to be pretty huge, and could mean Imperial Guard style armies of Steam Tanks trundling across the battlefield in higher point games. For my money, I’d love to see a bunch of War Hydras as an army representing a Dark Elf menagerie.
No Tzeentch – I’ll be honest, I’m a huge fan of Tzeentch, but I’m not huge on the Disciples book. Since Tzeentch was left off the FAQ list, I’m HOPING that this means they’ll get an updated Battletome early in the next quarter. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
