Covert Missions introduces 160-new cards to Star Wars: Destiny that place an emphasis on alternate win conditions, pirates, apprentices, and the pilots that can shape the destiny of the galaxy!

The Rebels Arrive

If you’re a fan of the Cartoons, you’re going to recognize some familiar faces. Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren are both coming to the game with new cards and, of course, their custom ships. This expansion has a heavy focus on the new Piloting mechanic which allows you to activate the character and one of your vehicles.

Above we have Hera and Ghost, her ship. The combo there is pretty obvious you get to chain a few activations with the option to spend resources to ready an already exhausted vehicle and to get shields back. Sabine Wren, below, has her personal TIE. With the custom paint job, you’re only 1 die away from boosting her damage – and that should be too difficult to find a way to do that. Especially with Spectre Cell lowering the points for all Spectre units.

There is a strong theme here and it seems like a fun deck to run mechanically, too.

Scramble the TIE Fighters!

The Imperial aka Villain cards got a boost, too. Major Baron Elrik Vonreg is joining the Fray and he’s got a custom TIE Interceptor to pilot of his own:

His ship allows him to effectively “Destroy” an enemy vehicle by removing it from the player’s pool. And on the flip side, he protect’s his own pool as well. The Empire is also adding some new characters with this expansion who don’t do much on their own – but pair them with the right vehicles and they are a cheap swarm capable of raining death on their targets:

The galaxy can change in a single instant. The destruction of Alderaan announced to the galaxy that the dreaded Death Star was fully operational. In the same way the Rebel’s swift destruction of the Death Star brought a spark of hope to the galaxy and signaled a changing tide. These covert missions are undertaken by some of the most iconic character’s in the galaxy, and can change the balance of the Force.

Undertake top-secret plans with Covert Missions , a 160-card booster set for Star Wars™: Destiny!
