The Aether War has arrived, bringing war to the skies above the Mortal Realms. What’s in the box? Well come take a close look for yourself.

The Kharadron Overlords and Disciples of Tzeentch were two of the armies that helped set the tone for Age of Sigmar 2.0, which is responsible for all those new terrain kits, Endless Spells for every army, and all the special allegiance abilities and subfaction rules we’ve come to love. Those rules first appeared in experimental forms with these two armies, and now they’re getting a long-awaited update. Let’s check out the box!

There are a few sprues we’ve seen before in here. The Endrinriggers and Tzaangors–all focused on aerial combatants, which means getting this box set is technically an upgrade for your disc drive.

In addition to the models we’ve seen before, there are also two new heroes in here, the Magister of Tzeentch on a Disc, who is flying around, silver-surfer style, on a disc that’s grander and more tzeentchy than any of the other discs we’ve seen so far. Then the Kharadron Overlords have their Endrinrigger with Dirigible Suit, a teched-up flying hero.

…he has mustache pistols. I don’t know what else you could possibly want, but if you’re curious about his rules, the previews we’ve seen so far make him sound like a heavyweight on the battlefield.

You’ll also get some new rules for skyfights:

Bespoke rules for aerial combat can be used with the models in this set and in your mainline games to add new strategic challenges to your battles, while rich lore explores the ongoing battle for the Realm of Metal. Whether you’re starting an army, expanding one or looking for a cracking few evenings of gaming with a friend, this set is for you.

So if you’re looking to add a little depth (by adding height) to your games of Age of Sigmar, come try it out.

Are you ready for the Aether War?
