Warhammer 40K: A Closer Look At The Exorcist
The new Exorcist plastic kit has a jaw-dropping amount of details and Games Workshop is showing it off – take a closer look at the new Exorcist!
When it comes to iconic vehicles Warhammer 40,000 has quite a few. But nothing captures the Grimdark-Gothic vibe like the Sisters of Battle and their very iconic Exorcist. It’s a missile spewing organ mounted on the top of a Rhino-Chassis. When you look at one you can’t help but picture a cathedral. And then it fires it’s payload on your units and you know something is about to meet its maker.
Today, Games Workshop is highlighting this vehicle and showcasing some of the details of this new kit. If you’re a hobbyist and are looking for your next challenge get ready to take on the Exorcist!
A Holy Relic On Tracks
The Exorcist has always been a very ornate vehicle. It’s previous interation had lots of details and one of the key things was the rounded emblem on the doors. It was a call back to the old school Deimos Pattern Rhino. Well, Games Workshop has decided to update those doors to really drive that point home with the new kit:
Looking at the doors, you can also see that they have call outs to the 6 Orders Militant of the Sisters as well:
But the one thing that really makes this vehicle so unique is the Organ, right? Well check this updated version out:
Now those are some PIPES! Also note that the Organist has 3 different head options which is a nice touch. Another nice update with a lot of customization options are the new artifacts that have been worked into the hull of the vehicle.
These make the vehicle look like a catherdal on tracks for sure. Plus, if you have extra bits, they are going to make fantastic objective markers! I also like the redesigns of the exhaust ports as well. They add some width to the vehicle and tell the visual story of how the power plant of this vehicle can handle the extra weight:
The final touches for this vehicle are the Cherubs. Now, I know these things are supposed to be tiny angelic helpers, but to me they are equal parts creepy and grotesque. Personally, I’m not a huge fan – but hey, you do you.
They look optional at least. Now for the folks at home who are looking to add even more details, you’ll be happy to know that the kit will also include a transfer sheet.
This can save you some freehand work if that’s not your thing.
