Hot Topic Adds D&D And Critical Role Merch To Its Shelves
In a move that’s sure to appeal to goths, emos, scenesters, hipsters, and geeks with two or more tattoos, Hot Topic now has D&D and Critical Role merch.
Hot Topic, a store famous for existing about two stores down from the Food Court, left of Claire’s, and opposite a Lane Bryant (where the Sun Video was before the Invisible Hand of the Free Market began slowly strangling the life out of any store that dares to sell physical media in this day and age), now carries official D&D and Critical Role merchandise, according to a recent tweet from Laura Bailey, voice actress and tiefling at Critical Role.
SURPRISE!! 🎉
Yep, it’s really us – more coming soon!!! https://t.co/u0qRNlYitL— Laura Bailey (@LauraBaileyVO) February 1, 2020
And of course, if the information that something is possibly out there on the internet exists, then so does a comprehensive breakdown of all the details available, which appeared within just a few hours of the original tweet getting posted.

Here’s a closer look at everything:
First up, a simple logo tee. But if you’re interested in something with the character’s faces on it, you can find a Mighty Nein shirt complete with Frumpkin:
Or how about a comfortable hoodie?
And if you’re looking for beauty, you can find it in this t-shirt.
Now, is it telling that there seems to be more Critical Role merchandise than D&D merchandise? Perhaps. But Critical Role is also a niche fandom within a niche fandom, and one with massively supportive followers. So if you’re a physical store that’s struggling to exist in a world that is slowly crushing the idea of physical stores–because who wants to go buy something when Amazon can get it for you, like, right now and you wouldn’t even have to put on pants or anything–then targeting a large and active subculture like the CR and D&D fandoms is a great way to keep your business alive and growing strong.
It’s either that or set up shop right next to the Cinna-Bon and let their smell do all the work for you.
