Forge World has some pretty bonkers kits. They like to experiment and we love that about them. One place they really go bananas is the Mechanicum Kits. These vehicles have a certain retro-futurist look that makes us think they should have been part of some Sci-Fi movie from the 50’s. Here are 5 of the most insane looking Mechanicum Kits!
Mechanicum Ordinatus Aktaeus
We’re starting off with the crazy looking Aktaeus. Is this a missile or some type of super weapon? Not exactly. It’s actually a Super-Heavy Transport. It’s been dubbed “The Imperial Mole” and you can see why. It’s really a giant drill with 4 tracks. Look, it’s on this list because we’re not entirely sure how it would work as the Drill is kind of high-up and the track seem like they would get in the way. That said, we don’t want to see on tunnel up in our backfield!
Ordinatus Ulator
Again with the Quad Tracks…but this time it’s a giant Death Ray! Seriously, this is what the Mad Scientist builds in a 50’s Sci-fi movie to blow-up the moon or something if he doesn’t get 1 million dollars. That said, it’s a cool kit – but it’s clearly Insane! Why does it have extra Volkite Culverins? Because this thing shoots lightning and craps thunder (it’s big gun is a Sonic Destructor). Twirl your mustache and whip your blast goggles when you use this thing.
Krios Venator
This thing looks like a mix between a WWI Tank, a Clock-work Warrior, and Sci-fi Artillery Piece from the Pulp-era. It’s a WWI tank because of the treads. It’s a Clock-work Warrior because of the rando gears. And it’s a Sci-fi Artillery Piece from the Pulp-era because of that comically oversized gun barrel. I mean, it’s a cannon, but ya – it’s still comedic. Maybe this is the super weapon the Mad Scientist builds to blow-up the Eiffel Tower or something? Just pay the man 1 million bucks and arrest him when he tries to spend it.
Termite Assault Drill
Okay, what is with the Mechanicum and the whole drilling thing? They are really into it and I kinda respect them for it now. This vehicle is insane because it looks like it could actually be a real drill. It’s got a TON of drill bits and really looks like it could bore a hole to the center of the earth. Did Jules Verne design this thing? Or maybe it was the team from Deep Core. Or perhaps they borrowed it from the Foot Clan. Whatever – it’s insane and we dig it.
Karacnos Assault Tank
Maybe you’re like me and thought that the Triaros Armoured Conveyer was already a bit extra. Well, Forge World sees your reaction and decided to raise you with the Karacnos Assault Tank! It looks just as crazy and comes with more guns! Why? Because it’s going to make Pew-Pew sounds as it fires volley and after volley of Rockets at you. That sounds like something a mad man would do, right? That’s why it’s on our list.
