Geekery: Jump Back in to the Altered Carbon Universe with ‘Resleeved’
This new story in the Altered Carbon universe takes place on Planet Latimer, where everything is temporary but honor is forever. Join Kovacs again as he protects a tattoo artist alongside a no-nonsense CTAC officer while investigating the death of a powerful yakuza boss.
The story looks interesting and it seems they’re connecting it to the live action series, which means we may be learning more about those characters. It’s got the fights, guns, and blood of the live action, that’s for sure. But… the animation is going to be a struggle for me. The 3D/traditional animation mash up saves money and time, but it just doesn’t look good.
The series is written by Dai Sato (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Tsukasa Kondo, which is what’s going to make me want to give this a shot despite my issues with Anima’s visuals.
Altered Carbon: Resleeved debuts on March 19th.
