Try This At Home: Exploding Death Star Ikea Lamp

Light up your life with your own personal exploding death star! This project is simple and looks totally awesome.

I had seen photos of this floating around social media without any background or credit, so I decided to dig a bit and discovered it’s an Ikea hack project from Instructables contributor MariaK64. It looks like it could be completed in a weekend and the materials required are basic. Adding the praxis effect would be pretty easy if you want to make it more like the on-screen explosion.

Pick up a white PS 2014 pendant lamp from Ikea, paint, masking/painters tape, some basic hobby tools, and follow her instructions to create this awesome light fixture perfect for any gaming room or geek space.
