This weekend’s Hobby Challenge – go build something!

Hey everyone! In the spirit of building some community I’d like to issue a weekend hobby challenge: Go Build Something! It could be a unit you’ve been sitting on, a kit you’ve stashed, or an ongoing long term project. Just BUILD something. I’m throwing down this friendly gauntlet and I’m kicking it off with a bit of terrain that has been on my project list but didn’t get around to: The Numinous Occulum.

I got it knocked out and now I’m turning it over to you! Just build something and share it in the comments. We’re looking forward to your work. Or if you’re more into the social media thing hit us up directly @BoLSNEWS on Twitter or at @belloflostsouls on Instagram!

Couple of notes on this build. If you happen to get a Numinous Occulum yourself, the tolerances on this kit were pretty loose (meaning it doesn’t fit very well). It’s not the same hard plastic that they make the units out of and it felt different than the heavier plastic from some of the other terrain kits.

Be sure to do a good job of clipping, cleaning, and dry fitting before you glue. You’re probably still going to need to do a bit of gap fill but that shouldn’t be a problem. I’d also recommend using some type of plastic glue or plastic cement. I used Testors Plastic Cement for stuff I know is going to see a lot of use on the tabletop (like terrain pieces) and players will be a little rough with.

I liked the kit overall. Just wish the model fit a little bitter. So what are YOU going to build this weekend?
