Horus Heresy: Lion El’Jonson Rules Preview
The Road of Thramas is bringing the Lion to the tabletop and today we get a closer look at his stats!
In case you missed the amazing preview of Lion El’Jonson, his model is coming soon* and that means he’s getting rules for the tabletop.
The Rules
As the Primarch for the Dark Angels, his statline is going to be pretty impressive.
With an 8 WS and an initiative of 7, he’s going to be a nightmare for the enemy in close combat. On top of that, this duelist has some extra special rules to make him even more deadly.
As he starts losing wounds, he actually GAINS extra attacks. It’s like an inverse damage table for his attacks.
This rule is interesting because he’ll never hit on worse than a 4+ in close combat. That doesn’t mean he can’t hit on something better (like a +2 vs really low WS combatants). But it also means that he’ll be able to ignore other abilities that force him to hit on worse rolls. For a close combat power house, that’s a big deal!
Lion El’Jonson also has a pair of weapon options for the model. You can choose either the Lion Sword or the Wolf Blade:
That’s a scary weapon with a ton of extra rules. This is the sword to use if you want him to duel enemy heroes or go vehicle hunting!
The Wolf Blade, on the flip side, makes The Lion Strength 10 with all those attacks. With its own bucket of special rules and AP 2, you’ll be able to tear through enemy units pretty quickly. Plus you’ve got a good chance to break them thanks to Fearsome Ruin!
Naturally, The Lion also comes with a 2+ armor save and 4+ invulnerable save which gets a re-roll once per turn. For ranged weapons, he’s got a special Plasma weapon called the Fusil Actinaeus – not only is it plasma, but it can blind enemies, too.
The Lion will ROAR!
